What We
Believe
About:
Established in 2024, the Wichita Public Schools Foundation works to ensure all students and staff in Wichita Public Schools have the resources they need to thrive. Focused on providing support in three key areas – basic needs, classroom innovation and staff retention; we work alongside the entire Wichita community to fund, support and uplift the largest school district in the state of Kansas.
As the third largest employer in the metro area, employing more than 8,000 staff annually, your impact at Wichita Public Schools is seen, and amplified across the entire city. Wichita Public Schools educates more than 45,000 students each day; with 80% of students living in or at the risk of poverty, your commitment to Wichita students provides our kids with the resources they need to thrive academically and be ready for a life after high school graduation.
Mission:
We strive to build a community of supporters dedicated to creating a Wichita Public Schools where all students and staff thrive. Together, the Foundation amplifies resources to remove barriers for students and staff; providing opportunities to increase the social, emotional, and educational experience for all students to change the trajectory of their lives and ultimately enhance Wichita Public Schools community at large.
Vision:
We envision a district that eliminates barriers for both students and staff, ensuring that all students come to school prepared and eager to learn. In this district, staff have access to the resources, supplies, and professional development necessary to deliver the highest quality education. We aim for a district that is supported by the entire Wichita community, where Wichita Public Schools serves as a national model for quality education and genuine community support.
